Some Comic Verse

BY Cheronne Davis

Illustrations by: Pam Menzies

A mature women, ala Pam Ayres, looks at human foibles.

Davis notes in her introduction that when she first started writing poetry she was reminded of something she had read about a budding young poet who sent a peom into an American magazine. The Poem was titled 'Why do I Live?'. He received an answer saying, " We regret we cannot publish your poem, but we can answer your question. It's because you posted it to us and didn't deliver it in person."

Most of the poems in Davis's book are true and as the years go on one can laugh at situationjs that didn't seem funny at the time.

Covering everything from Grey power, through Catch 22 and Domestic Disaster, to The End, the book gives rise to what reflection has deemed the funnier side of incidents not previously regarded for their mirth.
